Perhaps you’re looking to perform a complete remodel of your bathroom? Maybe your toilet is simply no longer getting the job done? In either case, you’re going to have to purchase and install a new toilet. For 25 years, residents and business in Milwaukee have turned to JM Remodeling for all their remodeling contractor needs.
As you go through the punch list of things to consider, one of the main questions is: what type of toilet should you choose? There are a number of different types of toilets on the market, all of which offer something just a little different in terms of performance.
The four primary types of toilets being utilized today are two-piece toilets, one-piece toilets, mounted toilets, and smart toilets. Let’s review them, shall we?
Two-Piece
The most common type of toilet in the United States is the two-piece toilet. This aptly named toilet consists of two different parts: the bowl section and the tank section.
While two-piece toilets can be difficult to install, once they’re installed, they’re fairly easy to maintain. Should they ever require repairs, they can typically be opened up and worked on with ease.
These toilets generally sit pretty tall, making them appropriate for adults of all sizes. Possessing standard looks, and coming at reasonable prices, they are a decent buy for anyone looking for a toilet.
One-Piece
If you’re working within a small bathroom, you might want to consider using a one-piece toilet. One-piece toilets are a great deal smaller than two-piece toilets, sitting low, and taking up a very small amount of space.
They are very easy to install, maintain, and clean. In most cases, they can be easily opened up, providing simple access to all of their components. Aesthetically, they appear a little more compact than two-piece toilets.
Apart from their small size, the only true downside to one-piece toilets is that they can be a little expensive. However, due to their extreme durability, they are usually well worth their cost.
Mounted
If you’re working within a very small bathroom, a mounted toilet might be your ideal choice. These toilets are literally attached to the wall with their water tanks installed inside of said wall. They take up about a foot less space than two-piece or one-piece toilets.
However, because they must be installed into a wall, they can be a little difficult to install, clean, and maintain. It’s not easy to gain access to their components if repairs are required.
It should also be noted that mounted toilets are on the expensive side. However, if you’ve got the budget for it, for most consumers, the extra space gained offsets the extra cost.
Smart Toilet
If you wish, you can also choose to supplement one-piece, two-piece, or mounted toilets with a bevy of different accessories. There is a great deal of technology out there which can help to enhance your bathroom experience.
Perhaps you would like lighting on your toilet? Maybe you would like a seat-warmer on your toilet? Maybe you would like a scentifier on your toilet seat? By investing in a smart toilet, you can have all of these perks.
As you might imagine, these toilets tend to be expensive. However, if you’re willing to make the investment, you can have a truly modern toilet. As with every industry, technology is bringing change and innovation to toilets.
