Spa Bathroom Design – NARI WRA Bronze Award

Spa Bathroom Design

Our clients contacted JM Remodeling after they had received bids from other competing remodeling contractors. They were looking for a contractor to understand their vision for their master suite remodel. Our design team listened to what the homeowners ideas were exactly, and came up with a spa bathroom design plan to meet these needs. The homeowners dreamed of having a master suite that resembled a modern day contemporary bathroom spa. They expressed the desire for clean lines and streamline fixtures. JM Remodeling came up with two different spa bathroom designs that highlighted the different needs of the customer.

The existing master bedroom and bath was sectioned off and didn’t flow easily with the space. The new plan the homeowners chose moved the bathroom to the opposite end of the space to where the existing closet was located. By designing the project this way it enabled the space to add a whirlpool tub.  This tub helped to create the spa master suite that was a high priority for our client. Having a walk in shower as well as a whirlpool tub deck gave the homeowners functional options for bathing. To further create the spa themed master suite, JM Remodeling installed (2) 5” canister lights above the tub on Maestro dimmer switches to help set the mood while relaxing at the end of the day. The bathroom included a Broan heat/fan/light combination, occupancy sensor, and modern sconce lights at each side of the mirror.

To keep with the theme of the contemporary spa bathroom design, our design team incorporated the use of clean lines and repetition of materials used throughout the space. Painting the walls and ceiling white with with gloss white moldings made the contrasting espresso vanity a feature in the room. The  bathroom floor, shower floor, walls, mosaic wall insert, tub walls and details was laid with 2” x 4” white carrara polished marble, ¾” x 12” white carrara pencil marble liner, and 17” x17” white carrara lapato tiles. All tile edges were finished with bullnose marble. All of the plumbing fixtures used in the remodel were matching from the gorgeous Kohler Purist line. JM Remodeling also installed new prefinished 3 1/4” Aacer American Cherry hardwood flooring throughout the bedroom and walk in closet.

Our client had an established budget master spa bathroom design.  Our team worked within their budget for product selections, design features, and material ordered.  Every product was given an allowance that was built into the contract price.  All selections made were recorded on a product ledger and shown to the customer to be approved before ordering.  This method helps our clients know exactly how much of their budget is being spent on each individual item.
