Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Services
Nothing beats staying warm in the winter and cool in the summer, making every home’s HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) system critical. The life expectancy of a furnace is between 15 to 20 years and sometimes longer. Surprisingly, older furnaces have more longevity, but regular maintenance is a must. Regardless of your furnace’s age, annual tune-ups, cleaning and filter changes will lengthen the life of your furnace. To get the most out of your furnace’s efforts, make sure all vents throughout the home are clear of debris and there isn’t any furniture blocking them.
Maintenance for an air conditioner is similar to that of a furnace. Annual cleanings and tune-ups can extend the life of your unit, as air conditioners occasionally need more Freon added to keep them operating well. Schedule a maintenance visit before the weather gets too warm or cool—ideally when temperatures reach 60 degrees. As a general rule of thumb, do not cover your air conditioning unit in the winter, as doing so traps moisture in its components, potentially causing rust. Air conditioners are weather resistant by design and do not require additional protection.
